Tree Types Available:

Our tree selection varies annually. This year, we have the following tree types available for purchase:

Fir:

Pine:

Spruce:

We are offering Balsam, Canaan, & Concolor Fir Trees.

Balsam Firs have dark green, long, flat needles. Their stiff, layered branches can support many ornaments. Balsams have good needle retention and are named for their pleasant balsam scent.

Canaan Firs have blue-green, flat needles with sturdy branches that can support heavy ornaments. Canaans have a sweet and spicy fragrance and good needle retention.

Concolor Firs are native to the western United states. They have short, flat, soft needles that are a light blue-green with a silver tint. Concolor first have excellent needle retention.

Turkish Firs are native to Southeastern Europe & less common to find in Ohio’s tree farms. They have dark green, soft needles with sturdy, layered branches and excellent needle retention.

Firs grow well and are a strong, healthy tree. Firs are both ours and our customers’ favorite tree type with mid-range pricing!

We are offering White Pine Trees.

White Pines and Southwest White Pines have long, soft needles with great needle retention. Pines have soft branches which heavy ornaments may pull down. But they also have no “poke” or “ouch,” making them ideal for children. This tree provides a classic Christmas shape and look. We do not color our pines with any artificial spray. The color you see at our farm is the true color of White Pines.

White Pines grow the quickest, requiring the least amount of years from planting to sale. Because of this, these trees are priced at a slightly lower rate than our Firs and Spruces.

We are offering Black Hill Spruce, Blue Spruce, & Serbian Spruce Trees. We recommend purchasing spruces within 3 weeks of the Christmas holiday due to their average needle retention.

Black Hill Spruce have short needles which vary across a gray-green spectrum. They boast a pleasant scent, strong branches, and traditional pyramid shape. Black Hills do have average needle retention, so be prepared for a bit of needle cleanup after the holidays.

Blue Spruce vary from powdery blue to dark blue-green. They have round, sharp needles which hold heavy ornaments. Blue spruce have a pleasant aroma but only average needle retention. Be prepared for a bit of needle cleanup.

Serbian Spruce trees have a tall, slender build. Their needles are dark green with light streaks of white. Their branches also provide an upswept curve that gives them a mystical feel. They also have average needle retention, so be prepared for a bit of needle cleanup.

All spruces grow slowly, requiring the greatest number of years from planting to sale. Because of this, these trees are priced at a slightly higher rater than our Firs and Pines.
